Tips: Getting the Most Out of RapidReader

RapidReader is more than accelerated reading. RapidReader Editions allow you to customize the books and materials to suit your needs. You can add your own Notes and Highlites. You can "Dog-Ear" pages as bookmarks and you can even create your own review file from your Notes and Highlites. These features make RapidReader Editions ideal for school work.

You can also use RapidReader PRO to create your own RapidReader editions from Journals in PDF and web resources to streamline research or thesis writing.

Below are some tips to quickly get you up and running as a power user.

Quick Start Guide
To OPEN a RapidReader Editon Double Click on the RapidReader Icon RapidReader ebook mobile
To BEGIN reading Double Click on any word
To SELECT a speed Use the UP / DOWN ARROW keys to change speed by 25 wpm
To REWIND and re-read a LINE Use the LEFT ARROW key
To REWIND and re-read a PARAGRAPH Use ALT + LEFT ARROW key
To PAUSE Single Click
To STOP and see the text in ParagraphView Double Click
To RESUME Double Click on any word
Using Notes
 
Please Note: To retain your markup in a RapidReader Edition you must SAVE the file before closing.
To add a USER NOTE SINGLE CLICK to pause
CLICK on the Note Icon on the console
WRITE in the Note Dialog. Click DONE
OR "on the fly"
Press CTL+U; then write in the Note Dialog. Click Done
To Read a User Note

In ParagraphView Double Click on the Note Marker to open it
In TurboView Single Click to Pause
Single Click on the Note to open it

To Edit a User Note

Double Click on the Note to open it
Make your additions or edits
Click Done

To SAVE your Notes as a text file

ParagraphView Menu Bar select >Markup>User Notes Viewer
Select the Notes you wish or click in the dialog
Select "Save to File" to save all the Notes to a single file
Choose a destination for the file

To NAVIGATE a document using Notes

ParagraphView Menu Bar select >Markup>User Notes Viewer
Select the Notes you wish
Click "Go To"
This will take you to the section of the document where you placed the Note

Use NOTES to Create a RapidReview for Exam Prep
 
  SAVE your Notes as a separate text file ParagraphView Menu Bar select >Markup>User Notes Viewer
Select the Notes you wish or click in the dialog
Select "Save to File" to save all the Notes to a single file
Choose a destination for the file
 
  TO increase retention and memorization Select portions of your notes that you want to memorize.
Copy them multiple times in your Notes File
When in RapidReader these will act as flashcards for rapidly repeated exposures to the material to aid memorization
  OPEN your Note File in RapidReader "Drag and Drop" the text file onto the RapidReader ICON or
Launch RapidReader and browse from FILE>OPEN
  ADD any additional NOTES See Above
  SAVE the RapidReader File to preserve your markup FILE> SAVE AS
Using Highlites
 
Please Note: To retain your markup in a RapidReader Edition you must SAVE the file before closing.
To HIGHLITE TEXT

SINGLE CLICK to pause
CLICK on the Highliter Icon on the Console
CLICK and DRAG to select text
CLICK on the Highliter Icon on the MENU BAR to return to Normal Mode
DOUBLE CLICK on any word to begin reading

To View your Highlites

ParagraphView Menu Bar SELECT >Markup>Highlites Viewer
DOUBLE-CLICK on the Highlite you wish to view

To SAVE your Highlites as a text file

ParagraphView Menu BarSELECT >Markup>Highlites Viewer
Select the Highlite you wish or click in the dialog
Select "Save to File" to save all the Highlites to a single file
Choose a destination for the file

To NAVIGATE a document using Highlites

ParagraphView Menu Bar SELECT >Markup>Highlites Viewer
Select the Highlite you wish
Click "Go To"
This will take you to the section of the document where you placed the Note

Use HIGHLITES to excerpt text or quotes for report writing
SAVE your HIGHLITES as a separate text file ParagraphView Menu BarSELECT >Markup>Highlites Viewer
Select the Highlite you wish or click in the dialog
Select "Save to File" to save all the Highlites to a single file
Choose a destination for the file
Use the file to copy / paste into your report Select portions of the file to "quote" for your paper
PLEASE NOTE: If your report or paper is written in MS Word you will find that RapidReader will accelerate your proofreading dramatically.
Using "Dog-Ear Markers
Please Note: To retain your markup in a RapidReader Edition you must SAVE the file before closing.
To Place a DOG-EAR MARKER

SINGLE CLICK to pause
CLICK on the DOG-EAR icon on the console
WRITE in the Note Dialog. Click DONE
OR "on the fly"
Press CTL+D; then write in the Note Dialog. Click Done

To NAVIGATE a document using Dog-Ear Markers

ParagraphView Menu Bar SELECT >Markup>Dog-Ear Viewer
Select the Dog-Ear you wish
Click "Go To"
This will take you to the section of the document where you placed the Note
